Admission Information
1. B Sc. Biochemistry
(i) United Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME): To be admitted into the 4-years B.Sc. Biochemistry programme candidates must have: Credit passes in five O level subjects in WASCE/GCE/NECO including English language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology and Physics.
(ii) Direct Entry (DE): To be admitted into the 3 years B.Sc.Biochemistry programme, candidates must have:-
(a) ‘A’ Level passes in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.
(b) Relevant National Diploma (ND) with a minimum of upper credit plus 5 credits in WASCE/GCE/NECO as in section (i) above.
To graduate a student must have undergone 3 or 4 years of study depending on the entry point, including 6 months of SIWES training. Students must earn a minimum of 138 credit units for the four years, and 108 credit units for the three years programme.
2. B Sc. Nutrition and Dietetics
(i) United Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME): To be admitted into the 4-years B.Sc. Nutrition and Dietetics programme candidates must have: Credit passes in five WASCE/GCE/NECO subjects including English language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology and Physics.
(ii) Direct Entry (DE): To be admitted into the 3 years B.Sc. Nutrition and Dietetics programme, candidates must have:-
(a) ‘A’ Level passes in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.
(b) Relevant National Diploma (ND) with a minimum of upper credit plus 5 credits in WASCE/GCE/NECO To graduate a student shall have undergone 3 or 4 years of study depending on the entry point, including 6 months of SIWES training. Students must earn a minimum of 141 credit units for the four years, and 103 credit units for the three years programme.
3. PGD Biotechnology Candidates for admission into PGD Biotechnology shall have a Degree or HND with a minimum of Lower Credit in the relevant areas obtained from recognized Institutions.
4. PGD Human Nutrition and Dietetics Candidates for admission into PGD Human Nutrition and Dietetics shall have a Degree or HND with a minimum of Lower Credit in the relevant areas obtained from recognized Institutions
5. PGD Medical Biochemistry Candidates for admission into PGD Medical Biochemistry shall have a Degree or HND with a minimum of Lower Credit in the relevant areas obtained from recognized Institutions
6. M. Sc. Biochemistry Specialization in: Environmental, Industrial, Medical, Nutrition and Toxicology Candidates for admission into M. Sc. Biochemistry programmes shall have:
(i) A minimum of a Good Second Class Lower Degree in the relevant areas from Bayero University, Kano or any other recognized University.
(ii) A Degree plus University Postgraduate Diploma at Credit level in the relevant areas from Bayero University, Kano or any other recognized University.
7. M. Sc. Biotechnology Candidates for admission into M. Sc. Biotechnology programmes shall have:
(i) A minimum of a Good Second Class Lower Degree in the relevant areas from Bayero University, Kano or any other recognized University.
(ii) A Degree plus University Postgraduate Diploma at Credit level in the relevant areas from Bayero University, Kano or any other recognized University.
8. M. Sc. Public Health Nutrition and Policy Candidates for admission into M. Sc. Public Health Nutrition and Policy programmes shall have:
(i) A minimum of a Good Second Class Lower Degree in the relevant areas from Bayero University, Kano or any other recognized University.
(ii) A Degree plus University Postgraduate Diploma at Credit level in the relevant areas from Bayero University, Kano or any other recognized University.
9. MPhil/PhD Biochemistry Candidates for admission into MPhil/PhD Biochemistry programme shall have M. Sc. Degrees in Biochemistry (or relevant area) with CGPA of at least 3.00 on a scale of 5.00 from Bayero University, Kano or any other recognized University.
10.PhD Biochemistry Candidates for admission into PhD Biochemistry programme shall have M. Sc. Degrees in Biochemistry (or relevant area) with CGPA of at least 3.50 on a scale of 5.00 from Bayero University, Kano or any other recognized University.
