"Welcome to the Department of Biochemistry at Bayero University.

The Department offers two undergraduate degrees (Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics) and many postgraduate programmes up to PhD level. The Department has a long time history of quality teaching and research. Currently, graduates of the Department have found themselves in different walks of life, locally in Nigeria and abroad. The staff and students of the Department have coauthored papers published in scholarly publications locally and internationally, contributing to the body of scientific knowledge.

The Department is housed in the Hafiz Abubakar building and is endowed with many modern facilities important in the teaching and learning process.  The Department is also fortunate to have numerous academic, technical and administrative staff that constantly strive to ensure that students, at all levels, get the best out of their stay in the department. This has paramount significant in their endeavours after graduation"
