Admission requirements into B.Sc. Anatomy Program
Candidates seeking admission into B.Sc. Anatomy degree program must possess the minimum requirement for the entry into the Basic Medical Science programs. Admission can be through the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), the Direct Entry, inter-Faculty, or inter-University Transfer.
- Admission into 100 Level: A candidate shall possess a minimum of five credits in English, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry and Physics in the SSCE/NECO/GCE or equivalent in not more than two sittings. A candidate shall, in addition, have an acceptable score in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) to be specified by the University.
- Admission by Direct entry (200 Level): A candidate must satisfy the O/Level entry requirement mentioned above and in addition to the following:
The Interim Joint Matriculation Board Examination (IJMBE) with Minimum of eight (8) points in relevant science subjects,
Advance Level of General Certificate Examination or its equivalent with minimum of passes at credits level in subjects of Physics, Chemistry and Biology or Zoology in not more than two sittings.,
In all cases, an ‘O’ Level credit in English Language and Mathematics shall be required.
Special Admission
- Inter-Faculty
Candidates may be considered for transfer to or from the department through the inter-departmental (within the University) procedures under the guidelines and conditions approved by the senate. Those wishing or advised to transfer to other departments of the University have the privilege to do so at the beginning of a new session. Such students can follow the appropriate procedure of obtaining and filling the relevant inter-departmental transfer forms to effect the change. Similarly, those wishing to transfer from other departments to the department can do so if they meet the departmental requirements.
- Intra-Faculty Transfer
A student could be allowed to transfer to this department within this faculty based on the guidelines and conditions approved by the senate.
- Inter-University Transfer of Candidates
The department also releases candidates who willingly sought transfer to other Universities or accepts candidates from other sister Universities to the Department as long as they meet both the University as well as the Departmental requirements. All candidates on transfer to the Department must spend a minimum of three (3) academic sessions or six (6) semesters before graduation.
